well, the one gear… sometimes we would like to have a two gear system like on the pony. But since we are cruising, the one gear “limitation” is still okay. Usually it means (with the luggage of about 12kg each) that we walk the uphills sometimes.
Alltogether I´d say that the Jopo is perfect, if you are also travelling with busses.

I love reading about your adventure it is a very inspiring idea and cicking is one of my passions. My girlfrien and i are planing to go for a cicling trip in Turku and i wonder how did you find the one gear limitations of your Jopos wich is in my opinion a wonderfull bike.

Any way i hope your trip goes well and thankyou for sharing with us such a beatufull experience.

A Happy New Year to you too! After a lot of Christmas fun I spent New Year’s Eve back home in Berlin (along with Sasa, who says hello) and just realized I had 3 weeks constantly full of people and parties. Now that it’s quiet again, I’m taking myself a few days of lying about, and then I’ll start on my thesis with new energy…
Everything (except of course for your pictures being gone, but I am glad you deal with it the way you do – you’re right, things always turn out fine in the end) you write here sounds perfectly wonderful, lets my Fernweh grow and most of all, it makes me happy for you two. Say hello to the rays from me! :o)

aiaiai how exciting… you two wonderful, crazy people are in ometepe right now - in santo domingo!! ui, how amazing thinking of you visiting these people there (give a very especcially big hug to jorge, el poeta, if you see him again porfa!)… remember el ojo de agua (just an half hour walk from santo domingo en direction to altagracia (nice a visit there on a saturday night en “la pista” the local dico…)… maybe you ask (speaking again of the ojo de agua)- and then open your eyes under the water!!! i am telling you… and visit la finca zopilote en balgue - its worthy and and and….. aiai, i dont know… have you seen the “monos cara blancas” (white monkey apes) yet?? im sure you will hike the maderas (the smaller vulcano ) anyway… wont you?! and send all my love to every piece of this most wonderful beautiful place of our beloved planet… and all my love for you two, too. cuidense mucho and enjoy… i knutsch euch. steffi
