“the friends place…”

… is next to Finca Ipe, a biodynamic farm, in the mountains between San Isidro and the pacific.
When we arrived and asked, where Randy’s piece of land is (he invited us to stay there), we found out, that there is not much to stay on.
The land is really beautiful, but there is no infrastructure.
However, we got very interested about Finca Ipe (www.fincaipe.com) and the people who are living there.
So now we are staying as volunteers on Finca Ipe and are surrounded by beautiful nature, amazing views and people with lots of knowledge, ideas and visions, as you can read under stories.
We like it here and probably are going to stay here a few more days, working every morning from 7 to 11.
Yesterday we were collecting compostable material from all over the farm and piled it on the compost. The compost is basically the core of the farm, as no fertilizer needs to be brought in.
Today we were peeling the bark of harvested cinnamon trees.
Probably the best smelling work we’ve ever done.
Already after the second night on the farm we can say that we learn a lot here. And there is more to come.
In the commune around the farm, we are known as the “crazy finns with the bikes” and for some reason they think that I am an electrician.
Today is market day in San Isidro so we hitched a ride into the city and bought some vegetables for the communual dinner tomorrow.
